Society, but mostly soon-to-be-unemployed American O&G traders, are wondering this in droves along the Gulf Coast today—it’s a dark day to be buying or selling mummified animal remains.
And to make things worse, it’s 4/20, the holiest of days for the least holy people. Buzz kill, for sure, dude.
For eons—by that I mean since Jimmy Carter—these oil barons have been on a line that always goes up. Because, who doesn’t need oil, and all the time for that matter?
Today, that thinking’s in the tank.
That’s sad for recently minted nouveau riche Texans. It’s even worse for the principalities across the Middle East, America’s so-called ironclad allies.
And yet it’s somehow hard to feel compassion for murderous regimes propped up by years and years of extracting black gold from the endless expanse of kleptocrat-controlled deserts.
On this trying day, hopefully their legions of day laborers can help out. The sultans have taken their passports, though, so it’s not like they’re going anywhere anytime soon.
It’s an even shittier day than usual to be a Lamborghini owner. That being said, it’s a driver’s market.
